Policies for making up work missed due to absence

October 27, 2010

Dear Students and Parents of Mountain Peak Charter school,

Due to the recently increasing number of absences, we want to clarify our policies with regard to late and missed work.

  1. Students may make up classwork and missed tests and assignments within 2 days of their return to school after an absence. For example, if a student is absent on Monday and returns Tuesday, all missed work will need to be completed by Thursday.
  2. For group projects and presentations, students may present or turn in their projects with their group upon their return, but the person in the group who was absent will receive one letter grade lower than the rest of the group.
  3. It is the responsibility of the student who has been absent to find out what work needs to be made up and to complete it within the required 2 days.
  4. If a student requires additional help outside of class due to missed lessons, it is his or her responsibility to schedule time with the teacher before or after school for extra instructional time.
  5. Lab work can not be made up.
  6. The majority of our days' activities and assignments can be found on the school blog: mpcswork.blogspot .com. The username is caastudent and the password is studio22.

We hope these guidelines are helpful to all of you, but we strongly suggest that students attend school daily in order to receive the very best education possible.

Thank you,

Ms. Trapnell
Ms. Keehan
Mr. Smith
Mrs. Rapp
